Bandage & Brace come off-- but Cone of Shame remains.

Well, its not quite what we expected when the bandage came off. Essentially we have to crate Pumpkin (to minimize movement) for one month. Also, his cone of shame had to stay on because they don't want him picking at his newly naked leg & making it raw or infected. So he does have to have the cone of shame on (boooo) & the crate is an adjustment too. He doesn't seem to like it much. :(

Its only for one month though until he gets used to hobbling on it without a brace. We don't want Penny attacking him or him trying to make leaps onto the couch. When he gets spazzed he tends to be really reckless and we want him to stay sedate for a little while.

So not exactly what we wanted (less freedom initially) but we are told that it is only for a little while. In the meantime, he's got his own cushy bed, litter box, kibble & water. He doesn't have to deal with Penny pestering him or the dog for a little while. The sad thing is that he tries to get out and I don't want him hurting himself with pawing at the crate. Blergh.
